Rosemary, Mint & Sweetgum Sap

In Ancient Egypt, death was not the end but rather a transition to an eternal afterlife. The journey through the afterlife involved facing various trials and judgement, culminating in either eternal paradise or oblivion. Upon death, the deceased faced judgement presided over by Osiris, god of the underworld. The first judgement was the weighing of the heart against the feather of the goddess Ma’at. This feather was the symbol for truth and justice and helped determine whether the deceased person had lived a virtuous life. If the heart was lighter than the feather, the deceased was granted access to the Field of Reeds, a paradise-like afterlife. If the heart was found to be heavier than the feather, it would be consumed by Ammut, the devourer of the unworthy, and the soul would be cast into darkness and condemned to oblivion!
