HOW SHOULD I STORE AND CARE FOR MY CANDLE?

Please refer to our comprehensive candle care tab on our Home Page. Here you’ll find all the information you need to know about caring for your candle and getting the optimal burn experience.

HOW LONG SHOULD I BURN MY CANDLE FOR?

The maximum burn time for a soy candle is 2 hours.

The first burn is a little different however. Keep in mind that the first burn is the most important, where you should allow for the wax to melt completely across the top, thus forming a full wax pool. Doing this will establish an even melt for your candle for future burns. This burn can often take a little longer to achieve, sometimes 3-4 hours depending on the candle, but be patient and keep an eye on your candle to know when to extinguish it at the optimal time.

HELP! MY CANDLE KEEPS GOING OUT. WHAT CAN I DO?

Wooden wicks are very temperamental, and can test even the most seasoned candle user, and occasionally you might encounter a troublesome wick. This all had to do with the nature of the wood in your wick. Sometimes there are hidden knots in the wood, that can cause burn difficulties as the wick encounters a natural flaw that makes it harder for the wick to draw up the wax for fuel. So, if you find that for some reason your wooden wick will not stay lit no matter how hard you try, there are a few things you can do to help your wick along.

The first thing we suggest is to drain some of the excess wax around your wick, so as to make sure that it isn't "drowning". You can do this by lighting your candle and when you have a large enough melt pool, blow the candle out, then use a square of paper towel to gently soak up some of the excess wax. Allow the candle to cool and harden, trim the soot off your wick, then light the candle again.

If you still have issues, we also suggest priming your wick. You do this by coating or dipping your wick in some of the melted wax surrounding your candle. You can either use a candle dipper, tweezers or another small tool to do this. Just don't use your fingers!

If that pesky wick is still causing issues, then the last way to tackle your wick and get it kick-started is to trim off the end of a wooden skewer and to insert it into the wax next to the wick. Both the wick and skewer will burn safely and in harmony together, allowing for that knot in the wood to pass.

If this any of these methods work be sure to leave your candle burning long enough for it to form that complete melt pool across the top. You should now have a candle that will burn strong and evenly.

WHY DOES MY CANDLE HAVE BUBBLES?

Don’t worry, your candle is not faulty or damaged. It is completely normal for natural soy candles to sometimes have small imperfections, such as bubbles or surface frosting.

ARE WYSOPWORKS CANDLES ECO-FRIENDLY?

Absolutely! This is something we pride ourselves on here at Wyspworks. We use a natural blend of soy and coconut wax that is biodegradable. Our scents are also made using clean, high quality oils.

CAN I RECYCLE MY CANDLE CONTAINER?

You sure can. They make great storage jar or small pots for plants.

Soy wax is soluble, which means you can easily wash it out with warm soapy water once your candle has completely melted. We recommend waiting for your wax to cool - never pour hot wax down the sink - use a small spoon and gently scrape the remaining wax away from your jar, then simply wash it and allow to dry.

HOW DO I USE A WAX MELT?

Wax melts are basically wickless candles. They are simple and easy to use, and will fill your home with an inviting fragrance ambiance in little to no time.

Snap off one wax bar and place it in the centre of your wax warmer, making sure the bowl is clean from any previous wax that was used.

When the fragrance has run out, turn your warmer off and allow the wax to completely cool. Once cool, simply pop out the old wax, discard it in the bin, and begin the process again.
